Sweet Miracle was the very first official surrender to The Kitty Cottage, and she came to us in truly dire shape. Severely matted from nose to tail — the worst case we’ve ever seen in over five years of shelter work — she was in desperate need of a fresh start. Her medical chart was daunting: a suspected age of 19, a persistent UTI, a positive FIV diagnosis, hypertension, and early kidney disease. But the one thing stronger than all of that was her will to live — and love.
With patience, love, and expert veterinary care, Miracle has made an incredible transformation. We shaved her painful mats under sedation, treated her infection, and started her on a special kidney-friendly diet. She takes daily meds for her blood pressure, cleverly hidden in her breakfast — and she never complains. The best surprise? Miracle is likely only 12–16 years old, giving her plenty more time to enjoy naps, snacks, and snuggles.
Despite everything she’s been through, Miracle is one of the sweetest, most gentle souls we’ve ever met. Her ideal day is full of soft blankets, head rubs, and curling up next to her favorite human. She’s an easy cat to care for, and an even easier cat to love.
